Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá (/dert/ /sdə˞/ [past] [tax]) is a subtropical Large City located in the Sluptprond Principality of the Koiapi.
The name Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá is derived from the Goblin language, as Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá was founded by Knelmy, who was culturaly Gnoll.
Climate
Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá has a yearly average temperature of 8°C (46°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a freezing 0°C (32°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 16°C (60°F). Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá receives an average of 254 cm/y (99 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá covers an area of nearly 179 km2 (71 mi2), and an average elevation of 4044 m (13267 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá was founded durring the late 15th century in spring of the year 1385, by Knelmy. The establishment of Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Knelmy struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá as a prison colony.
Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá was built using the conventions of Gnoll durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive baked earthen streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The city is the proud owner of a proper castle-style stone wall complete with all of the trimmings. It has towers, a moat, gatehouses, drawbridges, and even merticulationsshortsizeleadershipname.. Astonishigly, the perhapse unnessisarily well built defences are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.
A look around Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring jsut long enough for it to be uncomfortable. Beneath this surface, the people of Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual.

Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá has a library, which keeps a large collection of books, scrolls, and archives all manner of physical items. The library is open to the public, including the Aether Link.
Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá's natural decorations nor waterways.
Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Cultural Notes
Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá is home to a distinct subculture, who are either the majority here or have the dominant positions in the community. Architecture, local laws, and social customs are all tuned to suit them, and they may not be particularly forgiving or friendly to the major culture of the region. Communities that are not outright independent usually make an arm's-length submission to a local lord.
Kad Iuwæ̈pi-sdá's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..
